Bryn joined the Royal Marines, undertaking recruit training at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines, Lympstone, near Exeter. After successfully completing the demanding 32-week Commando training course, he was awarded the Determination Award.

Throughout his service, Bryn was consistently commended for his professionalism, resilience and ability to perform effectively during extended periods in challenging and austere conditions. His training and operational experience included demanding exercises and deployments across a wide range of environments, from desert conditions to the Arctic, developing his ability to adapt, operate under pressure and maintain a positive and determined attitude regardless of the environment.

He served with 45 Commando Royal Marines, including a six-month operational deployment to Northern Ireland in support of the Police Service of Northern Ireland. During this deployment, his leadership and professional capabilities resulted in him taking command of a section, further developing his experience in leading personnel within a demanding operational environment.

Bryn was subsequently drafted to the Commando Logistic Regiment Royal Marines, deploying to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, as part of the NATO-led campaign. This deployment provided further experience operating within a complex and austere environment, supporting military operations under challenging conditions.

Following completion of his service, Bryn left the Royal Marines with an honourable discharge, having gained significant experience in leadership, operational planning, teamwork and working effectively under pressure.

Bryn has worked with Field Support Services (FSS) Group since 2009, building more than 17 years of experience across security, operations, training, logistics and international contract management. During this time, he has supported and managed operations across a wide range of complex and challenging environments.

Now aged 42, Bryn serves as a Senior FSS Group Operations Manager, responsible for the end-to-end planning, mobilisation, management and delivery of a broad portfolio of international client contracts and short-term operational taskings. Alongside his management responsibilities, he continues to deploy periodically as a Team Leader and Advisory Consultant, supporting high-profile clients and complex overseas operations.

Bryn is a well-trained and highly experienced security professional with practical experience applying ISO 30001 and ISO 31030 principles, particularly in relation to security operations, travel risk management, journey management, duty of care and operational risk mitigation.

Bryn’s early career saw him deploy in November 2009, with FSS in support of the Nigerian Ministry of Police Authority – 7 Cities Crime Reduction Programme in Kaduna, Nigeria. As part of the Border Security training team, he instructed officers in map reading, fieldcraft, weapons handling, searching, observation posts, physical training, fire control orders, patrolling and live-range activities. The programme concluded successfully in March 2010, having trained more than 500 officers.

In 2011, Bryn completed an intensive Executive Protection Officers Course in South Africa, covering executive protection, advanced driving, live-fire exercises, first aid and security planning, where he was awarded Top Student and achieving the City and Guilds qualification in Close Protection. He also successfully completed the Medicine in Remote Areas (MIRA) qualification, certified by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The programme is designed for personnel supporting operations in remote and challenging environments, including oil and gas, media, expeditions, exploration, disaster relief and humanitarian operations.

Between 2011 and 2012, Bryn deployed internationally as an Executive Protection Officer, supporting clients across Liberia, Russia and the United Kingdom. His performance and leadership subsequently led to his appointment as Guard Force Operations Manager for FSS Jordan in late 2012. Over the following years, he managed personnel, training, logistics, compliance and client operations across Jordan, while also supporting business development and overseeing contracts valued at more than USD 2 million.

From late 2015 to mid-2016, Bryn was seconded to Field Services Liberia as Administration and Logistics Manager, overseeing commercial and logistical operations associated with the FSS HGV fleet. Following the operational drawdown associated with the Ebola crisis, he returned to the United Kingdom and resumed his wider responsibilities as an Operations Manager.

In June 2017, Bryn successfully completed the examinations required to become a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and became a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

From 2019, Bryn managed a major USD 6.8 million security services contract in Kabul, Afghanistan, supporting a US defence contractor. He led the programme from mobilisation through to closure, overseeing personnel, B6 armoured transportation, protective security, logistics, journey management and client liaison.

More recently, Bryn has managed a major FSS programme in, Borno State, Nigeria, supporting a US aerospace client and overseeing secure transportation, accommodation, logistics, journey management, contingency planning and wider operational coordination.

Today, Bryn serves as a Senior FSS Group Operations Manager, responsible for planning, mobilising and delivering international contracts and short-term taskings from initial requirement through to completion. He also continues to deploy when required as a Team Leader and Advisory Consultant.

Throughout his career, Bryn has developed extensive practical experience in protective security, travel risk management, secure transportation, operational planning, training, logistics, contract management and client liaison. He also has significant experience in technical writing and documentation, including the development of client proposals, security and risk assessments, operational plans, scopes of work, standard operating procedures, contingency and evacuation plans, training programmes, reports and executive briefings. This combines strong senior management and technical capability with extensive practical experience of delivering operations on the ground.
